A Trauma-Informed Approach to Working with Subspersonalities
This experiential workshop introduces a contemporary, trauma-informed framework for psychotherapists working with subpersonalities and inner parts. Developed by Dolma Beresford, the model integrates psychosynthesis with insights from Trauma-Informed Stabilisation Treatment (TIST), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), and current neurobiological and attachment research. Building on Assagioli’s pioneering work, this updated approach brings greater therapeutic clarity and relational depth to inner parts work, while maintaining the spaciousness and mindfulness at the heart of psychosynthesis. Together, we will explore how trauma impacts internal multiplicity and how therapists can confidently support clients in integrating adapted parts with clarity, compassion, and coherence.
